Havana - Castro

Just prior to entering the underwater tunnel to enter old Havana, our bus was detained to allow Fidel Castro's motorcade to come through. Apparently he was entertaining an African dignitary in Varadero that day. On our way back to Varadero, after our tour to Havana was done, we once again had to stop for Castro's motorcade as it was leaving Varadero. It is said by the locals, that he doesn't normally spend the night in the same location two days in a row and that his location is kept secret. This is due to the many attempts on his life that have taken place in the last 40 years.
