Daytime and evening beach shots
The beach area at the hotel was quite wide and few people enjoyed the sunshine as much as we did. Most guests at the hotel enjoyed the pool, or decided to get relief from the sun by hiding under the shade huts. Since the sun and water was the main reason for coming to the beach, we always pulled our beach chairs to the middle of the sand.
As you can see, crowding was not a problem and there were plenty of beach chairs for everyone. Towels were supplied by the hotel by leaving a $15.00 deposit with the front desk. You could exchange the towels daily and you received your deposit when you finally returned the towels at the end of your stay.
The water temperature was better than our local beaches, but not as warm as some of the other caribbean locations. We spoke to others that were staying at Cayo Coco, another part of the island, and they were saying that their water was as warm as bath water. Their beach must have been within a cove, rather than ours which was being piped in direct from the Atlantic ocean. It was by no means cold, but just not as warm as we thought it would have been. After a few seconds in the waves, you didn't want to leave the water.
